Chinese Herbal Medicine

Herbal medicine uses plants and other natural substances for medicinal purposes. The ingredients in herbal formulations have specific therapeutic properties and prescriptions are based upon a variety of findings.

Herbal formulations are often prescribed to enhance the effects of acupuncture. They can be used in combination with many prescription medications or as a substitute when certain medications may not be tolerated.

When prescribed correctly Chinese herbal medication is considered safe and effective.
