Underwater Treadmill Therapy

Aquatic therapy, or hydrotherapy, has been gaining popularity for our animal patients due to the positive effects seen in human patients. Hydrotherapy uses the natural properties of water to achieve therapeutic benefits in a safe environment. Our treadmills allow variable control over speed, resistance (with jets or incline), and depth of the heated water allowing for a tailored and progressive therapeutic treatment plan.

The underwater treadmill is a highly effective form of treatment for improving strength and muscular endurance, increasing range of motion, neuromuscular re-education, gait training, cardio-respiratory endurance, decreasing compensations, and generalized conditioning. It is an excellent form of exercise for weight loss and for older patients as less body weight in water reduces the stress on joints and bones.
