Dr. Surovi received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Wake Forest University and graduated from The College of Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State University in 2000. While attending veterinary school she was inducted in the Psi Chapter of the Phi Zeta Honor Society for high academic achievement, and was awarded for clinical proficiency in companion animal medicine and excellence in veterinary geriatrics.
After working for many years in general private practice, Dr. Surovi developed an interest in pain management and veterinary rehabilitation. She began to recognize that most pets achieve the best outcomes when traditional veterinary medicine can be complemented with other therapies.
Dr. Surovi is a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA) and a Certified Veterinary Chinese Herbalist (CVCH) through the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. She attended the Canine Rehabilitation Institute to become a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist (CCRT). Dr. Surovi completed her animal chiropractic training at The Healing Oasis Wellness Center obtaining certification in Veterinary Spinal Manipulation Therapy (CVSMT). She has earned acceptance into the College of Animal Chiropractors.
Dr. Surovi is Past President of the Cleveland Academy of Veterinary Medicine, a local trade organization dedicated to the pursuit of continuing education and excellence in veterinary medicine. She is an active member of the American Association of Rehabilitation Veterinarians, the American Association of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine, the American Veterinary Medical Association, and the Cleveland Academy of Veterinary Medicine.
On the personal side, Dr. Surovi along with her husband, Michael Sivo, currently reside in Lake County where they enjoy the farm life complete with two Thoroughbred horses, Joey and Arya, a miniature horse named Teddy, two turtles, Shelley and Sheldon, and their four pit bull dogs, Olive, Poppy, Butter, and of course, Chauncy.
